The beginning of blogging. . . and life as we know it

Though life at the Baum shelter isn't all that exciting, thrilling, or perhaps even worth writing about, I thought that there might be some small something worth capturing (hence the blogspot). So I write. And maybe not for anyone but myself as a record of life's stories and God's providence.

Mike and I had some time to walk the streets of Siloam Springs the other night. Our good friends hosted a sleeping little girl of ours while we walked past the downtown shops, through a little park, and up a few flights of foliage-covered steps to the street above. We had to hop a fence and walk through someone's yard to make it back to civilization, but it was a small adventure for the books, I guess you could say.

Anyways, in the midst of our rendezvous we got to talking about life "A.M." . . . "After McKenna." There's something about that little girl that has changed our lives forever. We not only know how to change a diaper in under fifteen seconds (you have to be faster than she is), but we are learning about some of the bigger things in life. I don't think there is anything or anyone who could have prepared us for the blessings and sacrifices that would follow her entry into the world. But as she entered this world and took her first breath of life, it's almost as though we were reborn at the same time.
